RIGHT Foundation convened its 7th Council Meeting in Seoul on June 29, 2026. The Council reviewed the Foundation’s achievements in 2025, its strategic priorities for 2026, and its future direction. Council members also exchanged views on the evolving global health landscape and opportunities for collaboration to advance global health equity.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW), the Gates Foundation, the Korea National Institute of Health (NIH), the International Vaccine Institute (IVI), and leading life sciences companies in Korea. This year’s meeting also welcomed Raphas, a biotechnology company specializing in microneedle technology, and Rapigen, an in vitro diagnostics company, as new Council members.
The meeting opened with welcoming remarks by Hyo Keun Lee, CEO of SD BIOSENSOR, who served as Chair of the Council this year. In her welcoming remarks, Minwon Lee, Executive Director of the RIGHT Foundation, expressed her appreciation to the Council members for their continued guidance and support. She highlighted the Foundation’s recent achievements, including investments in 10 new projects and global regulatory milestones, while also underscoring the importance of expanding partnerships through initiatives such as the Asian Funders Coalition. She reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to supporting innovative health technologies and strengthening global partnerships to improve equitable access for LMICs.
Following the welcoming remarks, Hoon Sang Lee, Chief Strategy Officer of the RIGHT Foundation, delivered a presentation titled “Highlights from 2025 and New Opportunities Explored for 2026.”
Council members shared their perspectives on emerging global health challenges and discussed the Foundation’s role in accelerating the development of innovative health technologies and strengthening global partnerships to improve equitable access.
The Foundation extends its sincere appreciation to Hyo Keun Lee, CEO of SD BIOSENSOR, for serving as Chair of the Council this year, as well as to Young Ha Beak, Director of the Division of Healthcare Technology Development at MOHW; Trevor Mundel, President of Global Health at the Gates Foundation; Jae Hwan Nam, Director of the Korea National Institute of Health (NIH); representatives from the International Vaccine Institute (IVI); and all Council members for their valuable participation and continued support.
