🔗Non-Replicating Protein Nanoparticle-based Rotavirus Vaccine
InThera aims to develop a next-generation parenteral rotavirus vaccine (ENC-P[8]/P[6]/P[4] VP8) to address the limitations of current oral rotavirus vaccines (ORVs). While ORVs have reduced severe diarrhea globally, their effectiveness is lower in middle- and high-burden regions, and concerns persist about rare adverse events like intussusception. The ENC VP8 nanoparticle vaccine targets the major circulating human rotavirus genotypes and elicits a superior immune response via intramuscular administration. This novel approach aims to provide higher efficacy and broader protection, particularly
in middle-income countries ineligible for Gavi support. By overcoming the challenges of ORVs, this vaccine could greatly reduce rotavirus-related deaths and improve public health outcomes globally
