A lyophilized, multi-vial formulation of the Sm-p80/GLA-SE schistosomiasis vaccine candidate was developed. A successful technology transfer from PAI Life Sciences (USA) to Quratis (Korea) was completed, meeting all purity, potency, and efficacy targets. GMP manufacturing of 12,000 vials for clinical use was completed. These milestones enabled the vaccine candidate to advance into a Phase 2 efficacy trial in Madagascar, with human challenge trials were also initiated in Europe and Africa.
