On June 11, the RIGHT Foundation convened a roundtable with in Seoul representatives from the Gates Foundation, the Government of the Republic of Korea, and leading Korean AI companies to explore opportunities for collaboration in global health.
The Gates Foundation, a founding partner and ex-officio observer board member of the RIGHT Foundation, has been closely engaged with the Foundation since its establishment. This year’s visit included Isabel Torres, Senior Advisor, CEO Roundtable, and Jeffrey French, Senior Officer, Industry Leadership Engagement & Senior Manager, Strategy & Implementation.
The discussions focused on the growing role of Health AI in addressing global health challenges, as well as opportunities for collaboration between the Gates Foundation and Korea. The Gates Foundation delegation also met with officials from the Ministry of Health and Welfare to exchange views on strengthening the use of AI in healthcare and advancing international cooperation.
The industry roundtable brought together Korean innovators including LG AI Research, Lunit, Noul, Medical IP, Soombit AI, Healcerion, NTL Healthcare and POSKOM. Participating companies showcased their AI-driven healthcare technologies and shared perspectives on how these solutions could contribute to improving health outcomes globally. The Gates Foundation highlighted its interest in expanding access to AI-enabled health solutions in low- and middle-income countries.
