Pyronaridine is currently registered as a malaria treatment in over 25 countries, while the antimalarial activity of M5717 has been demonstrated in FIH and challenge studies. The combination leverages complementary modes of action in blood stage parasite killing. The project activities would include a preclinical toxicology study, Phase IIa study of singledose combination and Phase IIb study to evaluate repeat dosing (animals) and inclusion of women of childbearing potential.
