Job Description


The Research Investment for Global Health Technology Foundation (RIGHT Foundation, https://rightfoundation.kr/)is a research funding agency dedicated to supporting global health research and development (R&D) through a three-way partnership among the Government of Korea, the Gates Foundation, and life science
companies.
The RIGHT Foundation (hereinafter “the Foundation”), which aims to advance global health equity and supports the development of essential health technologies as global public goods, is currently seeking a qualified candidate for:

Job Purpose

Government & Public Relations Officer / Associate will actively participate in the formulation of strategies to maintain a positive relationship with related organizations of the Foundation. This includes maintaining friendly relationships with the government, corporations, NGOs, etc., as well as performing tasks related to the discovery and maintenance of new networks. Additionally, it involves planning and executing events with key stakeholders to advance the Foundation's work through collaboration with various teams of the Secretariat.



Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Public Relations and Communications
    • Collaborate effectively with domestic and international stakeholders, including the government, corporations, participating organizations, and collaborating agencies of the RIGHT Foundation, using advanced communication skills to implement the strategic goals of the Foundation
    • Prepare required English and Korean documents related to works with government or corporate entities supporting the Foundation
    • Seek or create opportunities to advocate for the RIGHT Fund’s mission and activities domestically and internationally
    • Collect and analyze information and data related to changes in government policies regarding ODA, R&D, and other critical issues
    • Maintain positive partnerships and friendly communication with target institutions for external cooperation
    • Plan and support official events to establish constructive relationships with stakeholders
    • Perform other tasks required to improve the Foundation’s external relations


Key Competencies

  • Effective communication skills in English and Korean to establish constructive relationships with various stakeholders, including government and corporate representatives
  • Ability to understand international cooperation tasks and quickly learn new information
  • Ability to manage confidential information based on high ethical standards and integrity
  • Strong ability to communicate in a diplomatic and tactful way with various government and corporate stakeholders
  • Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships with members of the Foundation from diverse nationalities and backgrounds
  • Comprehensive analytical skills, quick access to information, judgment, and a cautious sense of duty
  • Advanced skills in expressing ideas and efficient delivery of information through English and Korean document writing, as well as proficiency in MS Office and other relevant tools


Education and Experience

  • Required Qualifications
    • Experience of at least 2 years performing tasks listed under ‘Key Duties and Responsibilities’ after completing undergraduate studies abroad or in Korea, or a master's or doctoral degree in a field related to the listed tasks, or qualifications equivalent to the above
    • No disqualifications for business trips abroad
    • No pending litigation or previous convictions of imprisonment or more severe penalties
  • Preferred Qualifications (not required)
    • Proficiency in English
    • Experience related to health, life sciences, chemistry, medicine, etc., supporting the industries the RIGHT Foundation focuses on
    • Experience in external cooperation work with government, public institutions, corporations, or non-profit organizations
    • Experience in planning and managing events such as international conferences and government events
    • Degree related to the industries in which the Foundation is investing, such as life sciences, chemistry, public health, etc.

Working Conditions

  • Recruiting type: Regular (3-month probation period included)
  • Working hours: 40 hours/week (max. 52 hours a week, flexible hours allowed)
  • Working Area: Office located in 4F, 68, Ujeongguk-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul, Korea
  • Salary: TBD following the interview, taking into account competitive compensation based on the candidate’s skills and experience
    *The level of position shall be decided depending upon the candidate’s proven experiences
