The team
The core function of the Investment Portfolio Management team is to:- Develop, refine and ensure compliance to the internal investment guidelines governing the Foundation’s investment process
- Oversee proposal selection per internal investment guidelines
- Actively analyze and track progress of investments at the portfolio level
Position Summary
The Senior Portfolio Management Officer (SPMO) is a highly qualified resource and connector with other teams at the Foundation for effective collaboration to analyze, track and communicate progress of the Foundation-funded grants at the portfolio level. The SPMO’s primary responsibility is to 1) oversee the proposal selection process during each funding call for proposal (Request for Proposal, RFP), 2) actively track and analyze the process of the funded grants at the portfolio level, 3) ensure compliance to the Foundation’s internal investment guidelines throughout the proposal selection and grant management, and 4) oversee and effectively utilize the internal investment system. This role requires professional experience in portfolio management and excellence in professional communication and multiple-task management. The SPMO will be expected to collaborate closely with the Programs and Strategy team who will lead the development of the RFPs and the management of individual grants.Core Responsibilities
- Oversight of the proposal application, evaluation and planning
- -Develop an annual investment plan and budget in support of the IPM director
- -Lead the proposal application and selection process during each RFP
- -Prepare and disseminate documents related to the proposal application and evaluation, communicate with applicants and reviewers as needed
- -Set and maintain an internal investment system to run the RFP
- -Conduct eligibility check based on the requirements stated in the RFP and due diligence of applications per internal investment guidelines
- -Organize meetings or webinars related to the proposal application and evaluation
- -Provide support for recruiting and communicating with external reviewers
- Portfolio management and analysis
- -Colalborate with the Programs and Strategy team to track progress of the funded grants at the portfolio level, generate data from the RFPs
- -Generate and communicate data reflecting the progress of grants at the portfolio level toward targets
- -Identify and assess key risks to meeting the grant goals at the portfolio level to enable effective decision making
- Management and compliance of internal investment guidelines
- -Refine and strengthen internal investment guidelines to maintain a rigorous investment process
- -Serve as a thought partner to the Programs and Strategy Team to ensure compliance of the grant management to the internal guidelines
- Effective utilization of the internal investment system
- -Manage the internal investment system to run the entire investment process
- -Train internal and external stakeholders for the investment system, disseminate updates on the system
Core Skills
- Proven track record of portfolio management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in professional settings
- Excellent listening skills to collaborate with other teams effectively
- Fluency in English or Korean and a high degree of proficiency in the other. Fluency in both languages preferred
- Ability to understand the foundation’s investment process and analyze the portfolio quantitatively and qualitatively
- High level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and Power Point and/or other project management tools or analytic tools to communicate the portfolio-level progress effectively
Education & Experience
- A minimum of 8 years of professional experiences including 5 years of proven professional experience in project or portfolio management is required, preferably in the Foundation’s investment areas or global health field.
- Bachelor’s degree is required. An advanced degree in business administration, public health, international development, science or a related discipline to the Foundation’s investment areas is a plus
- Process design experience is desirable
- Experience working in global settings or in networking and collaborating with global partners is desirable

Working Conditions
- Recruiting type: Regular (3-month probation period included)
- Working hours: 40 hours/week (max. 52 hours a week, flexible hours allowed)
